Oman is well known for its unique tourist attractions. Wadi's, deserts, beaches, and mountains are areas which make Oman unique to its neighboring GCC nations. Jebel Shams is Oman's tallest mountain, followed by Jebel Al-Akhdar, and are both popular destinations for camping especially during the hotter months from May to November, where the weather is exceptionally beautiful. Most of the major malls are located in Muscat, the capital. Other popular tourist activities include sand skiing in the desert, mountain-climbing, camel racing, and desert camping.

Oman is known for its traditional markets called Souqs that sell a variety of affordable products including textiles, Silver, Frankincense and fresh produce to name a few. Souqs are considered to be the ideal place to experience the vibrant Omani shopping scene, making it a great place to find your especial souvenir to take back home. The most notable Souq in Muscat is the Muttrah souq, located 4KM’s from the Shangri-La hotel, along the pristine Muttrah port.
